Wear and tear repairs to the westbound carriageway surface between Junctions 3 and 4 will be carried out in five nights of work between Monday, August 17 and Friday, August 21.

Highways England project manager Peter Gee said: “All the work is being done overnight and we don’t anticipate any delays for motorway users.

“As well as resurfacing sections of the carriageway we’ll be renewing road markings and road studs.”

All the work will be done overnight – between 8pm and 5am each night – with two lanes of the three lane westbound carriageway closed.

Work on the Monday is near the Junction 3 entry slip road and that will need to close for the night with drivers able to use the eastbound slip road to travel down to Junction 1 and join the westbound carriageway from there.
