Organisers are already looking ahead to next year when they hope to bring an equally exciting line-up to the resort.

Coun Gillian Campbell, deputy leader of Blackpool Council said: “Livewire has brought a brilliant new dimension to live entertainment in Blackpool and the Will Smith finale to the weekend was extraordinary.

“We look forward to working with Livewire again in preparing for next year’s line-up, after the amazing entertainment they laid on this year.

“Our focus now turns to Switch-on this Friday, and the World Firework events in the resort during September.”

Livewire is set to return to Blackpool for the next two years at least after the council signed an agreement with organisers Piper Music Management to hold an event on the headland for three years in total.
