Mums and dads at Blackpool Vic are celebrating their best holiday ever with the arrival of their own Christmas Day babies.
While the rest of the resort tucked into turkey, five festive babies were born at Blackpool Victoria Hospital on Christmas Day.
Blackpool’s first Christmas baby, Sophia Lewis, was born at 3.58am to proud parents Maria, 32, and Morley, 30.
Maria, who lives in Kirkham, said: “She was due to arrive on New Year’s Eve so she was a week early, but we had already said we thought she might be early and knowing our luck she would be born on Christmas Day!
“She’s always going to be the special one now, especially since she was the first Christmas baby born at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. Every Christmas will be all about her from now on. We’re looking forward to spending time with her and taking her home.”
Luna Grace French, 8lbs, was born at 6.30am to Alexandra Howard, 25, and Paul French, 49.
Doting dad Paul, from St Annes, said: “It was the first time in 38 years that there was a full moon on Christmas Day and it just so happened that we called her Luna.
“She was determined to come at the right time.” Tipping the scales at 9lb 8oz, James Parker Jr, who was born at 2.04pm, was the heaviest Christmas baby born at the hospital that day.
