The club hosted its annual fireworks extravaganza with a mammoth display at the ground off Barlow Crescent, by Stanley Park.

Lasting more than 20 minutes, crowds watched on as fireworks of all shapes and sizes lit up the skies with a rainbow of colours across the outfield.

A club spokesman said: “Every year we host our Bonfire night party and this year it was the biggest and best yet.

“Due to ongoing improvements to the car park the fire was not as big, but we spent more on the firework display, which was our biggest yet.”

Crowds were treated to music, a funfair, face painters and other entertainment as well as some fantastic food stalls – including the traditional favourites of toffee apples, parkin and treacle toffee.

Other events in Fylde included displays at St Annes Cricket Club and Fylde Rugby Club, while towards the north of the coast, displays at Fleetwood’s Marine Hall Gardens, St Aidan’s School in Preesall and Cottam Hall in Poulton left crowds dazzled.
