Fylde Coast Radio is based in South Shore and broadcasts all of the Fylde coast, the UK and beyond – globally.

While it may be a community station, it is far from amateur, being staffed by people with a huge pedigree in local and national radio, from presenters and engineers to station management.

Indeed, three of the shows, – The Thursday night Blues Show with Darran Bruce, The Strictly Soul Show with Alan Gray and Boogie Nights with Ashli and Gary – are listened to nationally and syndicated.

Hughie in the mornings is also very popular locally and Elliot Hawkes is the new breakfast DJ on weekdays.

Anton Kay, station manager, said: “The radio station is continually growing, based on percentage monthly listener growth.

“The station has recently boosted its bandwidth, reach and strength, stepped up its broadcast sound to hi fi quality, and can be heard via numerous platforms including it’s own free apps, via website and the TuneIn Radio App.

“There are 38 local high calibre presenters, ( many ex BBC and major stations ) providing over 30 live radio shows from 7am until 11pm every single day – and broadcasting 24/ 7, 365 days a week to all of the Fylde coast and beyond.”

The station plays music from all genres, weather and information – aimed at a 40 plus age group – along with a local sports show, comedy hour, live concerts, and outside live broadcasts.

Anton added: “The presenters are chosen for their music knowledge or passion and do not have play lists – they can play what they want.”

The station is looking for four more presenters– two for daytimes and two for evenings, along with people who may just like to help the running of the station. Email [email protected]
