Latin feel at the Hilton Hotel as international showpiece attracts visitors from all over UK

The Hilton Hotel in Blackpool hosted a weekend Salsa Congress, with tuition sessions given by instructors from across the world. Hair-swirling stuff for the partner of instructor Colin Piper.

For the North West UK Salsa Congress descended on the Hilton Hotel for three nights of intense dancing across four different rooms - until 3am.

International salsa stars were among the scores of acts booked for the weekend.

The Salsa Twins, Sami Salsa and Roxitta, Mert Ulger, Leandro Charanga and Jessica Guastella and Alexandros Lacovides were headline names.

Teachers and DJs put on spectacular shows for those attending.

From 2pm on Friday, the hotel was taken over by the salsa crowd, with workshops staged throughout the weekend in dances including Salsa, Semba, Kizomba, LA Rueda, Bachata, Cuban Salsa, Zouk, Reggaeton, Cha Cha and Merengue.

Also set to take place were a variety of workshops in partner work, shines (steps in salsa dances), musicality and styling.

It’s hoped the event can be turned into an annual congress in the resort.
