A cold wet man damaged a door because he wanted to get into his rented bedroom and go to sleep.

Byron Kelly lost his temper after his landlord refused to come back and let him into the address.

Kelly, 24, of Seathwaite Avenue, Mereside, pleaded guilty to causing damage.

He was ordered to pay £39 compensation with a £150 court charge plus £25 costs by District Judge Alan Jones sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Prosecutor, Adrian Hollamby, said Kelly damaged a panel in a front door of the Blackpool address on May 9.

Kelly said it was raining and he was cold. He could not get in and when he contacted his landlord he said he was not coming home.
