Lancashire youngsters urged to make a splash in St Annes Cricket Club's first colour run

Primary schools and sports teams will feature in a colourful new fun event this weekend - and looking to boost their funds.

St Annes Cricket Club’s first colour run on Sunday from 11am will consist of races in two age categories - under-10 and all those older.

Participants will be covered in powder paint as they tackle the circuit.

Entrants can either gather sponsorship to help raise cash for sports equipment for their school or club or take part just for fun.

The event, in similar style to the popular annual Trinity Hospice Colour Splash, will also incorporate a family fun day.

St Annes CC chairman John Cotton said: “We’re really excited about the colour run, which we hope will become an annual event.

“It will enable children and adults to raise money for their chosen charity by obtaining sponsors.

Extend our calendar of events involving the local community at our family-orientated club.”
