CELEBRITIES got anything but a frosty reception as Kyran Bracken brought his ice party back to Blackpool for another sparkling year.
The former England rugby union scrum half swapped his boots for blades in 2007 when he skated to success in TV’s Dancing On Ice.
The star has never looked back and brought a star studded ice party to Blackpool Pleasure Beach for the first time in 2009.
Now nearly three years on – his show is set to make a triumphant return to the ice on Friday.
And the star cannot wait to pull his skates on in front of a packed audience.
He told The Gazette: “We are thrilled to bringing the Ice Party back.
“Blackpool is the perfect venue because as the home of Hot Ice, it has a strong following for ice shows. The venue is perfect, it has a brilliant atmosphere and when people cheer, you can feel it through the ice.
“Performers love coming here and we had a great response for the first two seasons so are delighted to be back.
Kyran will be joined by a galaxy of ice dance stars including Suzanne Shaw, Clare Buckfield, Matt Evers, Katie Stainsby, Steven Cousins and Nina Ulanova.
Former Dancing On Ice champion Suzanne said: “I haven’t been on the ice for about a year and half so it’s a bit nerve racking but I’m looking forward to it.
“I hope I don’t get injured!
“I’m a Lancashire lass so it’s lovely to be in Blackpool.
“I drove through the Illuminations last night which was brilliant, it really took me back to my childhood.”
Katie Stainsby, a dancer from Blackpool who accompanied Vanilla Ice in the hit ITV show last year, will also be pulling on her skates, she said: “I’m really looking forward to skating for my home town crowds.
“I learned to skate on this ice rink when was I was nine so I’m really looking forward to performing in the show.”
The show will run until Saturday October 29.
