Passers-by did a double take when they saw super-group Abba on Blackpool Promenade.
But Agnetha, Anni-Frid, Benny and Bjorn had not paid a flying visit to the resort. Madame Tussauds had in fact given their wax figures of the band an outing to mark the 40th anniversary of Abba winning the Eurovision Song Contest. The attraction is also inviting fans of the group to celebrate on Saturday ahead of this year’s contest taking place that night in Copenhagen, Denmark. Fans who come to Madame Tussauds dressed in Abba-inspired outfits will be granted free entry to the Blackpool attraction. Matthew Titherington, general manager at Madame Tussauds Blackpool, said: “Abba are synonymous with the Eurovision Song Contest, so coming to Madame Tussauds Blackpool is the perfect way to get in the mood for the 2014 show.”
