The Mayor of Blackpool Coun Ian Coleman invited guests who came armed with kind cheque donations for his the charities he is supporting this year – Blackpool Carers Centre and the Royal British Legion Club.

Staff from Ma Kelly’s donated £3,518, which was then topped up to £5,000 by owners Paul and Paula Kelly.

And Stanley Park Golf Club donated £260 from a charity golf day.

Coun Coleman said: “It was a wonderful morning and we had some fantastic donations.

“Members of Blackpool Magicians Club were there and we had some fun when famous magician Mark Raffles pretended to pick pocket me!
