Kidnap fear after child seen caged in Poulton van

A young girl was spotted sitting in a cage in the back of a van.

Police were called at around 5pm yesterday after a member of the public spotted the child in a blue Citroen van on Hardhorn Road in Poulton.

Pictures of the youngster were shared nearly 1,000 times on Facebook by worried users.

A police spokesman said: “We tracked the vehicle down using the registration number and we have spoken with the owner and we have spoken with the child.

“It appears the child wanted to get into the dog cage.

“No further action will be taken.”
