A Poulton pub is set for a facelift thanks to a £145,000 investment from its owners.

The Golden Ball Hotel, on Ball Street, closed on Monday for “an extensive refurbishment” that is set to create a handful of jobs when it is complete.

The Golden Ball Hotel is a lynchpin of the Poulton community, so we’re pleased to be able to offer even better surroundings and a great new menu to both our loyal and new guests alike

The pub is set to reopen on March 27.

The Spirit Pub Company, which owns the Golden Ball Hotel, said the investment will fund a total makeover inside, including a new lighter colour scheme, new furniture and a revamped bar area.

Bosses are also planning a new food and drink menu when the pub reopens later this month.

General manager Matthew Brown said he is already on the look-out for new staff to work in the kitchen and bar.

He added: “We’re incredibly excited to be undergoing such a huge transformation.

“The Golden Ball Hotel is a lynchpin of the Poulton community, so we’re pleased to be able to offer even better surroundings and a great new menu to both our loyal and new guests alike.”
