And catching sight of all the other various bugs and beasties who live in Hawthorne Park.

Children enjoyed a nature hunt with Wyre’s Rangers to unearth a whole host of creepy crawlies, in Thornton.

As part of a series of summer events, 11 youngsters and their parents took part in the Bugs, Beasties, Feathers and Flowers workshop.

A spokesman from Wyre Council said: “It was a good activity, the children enjoyed finding frogspawn, several types of spiders, beetle lavae and other bugs and creepy crawlies.”

Wyre Council is running a series of events throughout the summer to help keep youngsters entertained during the school holidays.
