A man is in a serious but stable condition after being found with head injuries at a property in St Annes.

The 40-year-old was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he is being treated for multiple fractures to his body.

Police were called to the incident at a property on the junction of St Annes Road East and St David’s Road North just before 11am on Saturday.

Det Sgt Mark Dickinson said: “Police are investigating the circumstances as to how he came to be there, however the incident is not being treated as suspicious at this time.

“If anybody has any information or has seen anything in that area, we would ask them to contact us.”

Scenes of crime officers spent several hours at the address collecting evidence.

Brenda Large, who lives next door, said: “There was a lot of police activity and detectives were at the property for about three hours.

“I believe the man was found unconscious. It is a shock to everybody.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and ask for Det Sgt Dickinson.
