Hundreds of fitness fanatics kicked, punched, lifted, stepped and danced their way through a free day of group exercise classes.
The event took place at Village Gym, Heron’s Reach, Blackpool. The club opened up its function room for the day to allow non-members to join in the fitness fun and take part in taster sessions of classes such as BODYCOMBAT, BODYPUMP, Les Mills Tone and BODYSTEP.
Nikki McLenahan, acting leisure club manager and group fitness instructor, said: “The idea was to provide a day for our members to bring their friends, for free, to start their New Year with a big fitness party. It gave people chance to try classes they might not have done before and to have fun working hard and sweating with friends and like-minded people.
“Lots of people make New Year’s resolutions to get fitter and leaner, so this was a great way to give those resolutions a kick-start. I am really grateful to everyone who made the day a big success – from our instructor team and staff, to everyone who came along and took part on the day. We want to show everyone that fitness is more fun, and something you are more likely to stick to, when you do it with friends.”
