A LOVED-up couple are ready to raise thousands of pounds for the wedding of their dreams – but they don’t plan on spending a penny of it on their big day.

The pair are in the final five of a competition to win a £30,000 wedding with all the trimmings – complete with fairy tale venue, big white dress and flowers.

The winners of the competition are the couple who raise the most for Cash4Kids, which helps children with disabilities, health problems or living in deprivation.

And to ensure they stand out from the crowd as they fund-raise around Blackpool, the couple are wearing wedding outfits courtesy of Dan Kerr Bridal Wear, Blackpool.

Greg, who has two children, Ruby, eight, and Max, five, said: “It’d be great if we can win the prize and at the same time do something great for the community.

“But even if we don’t win at least we’re doing something for the charity.”

Lindsey said: “It would be amazing if we could get through and know we raised money for local children.”

The couple, of Winton Avenue, Marton, plan to fund-raise every day until March 10, visiting local businesses to rally support.

The pair had only been engaged for one week when they decided to enter the competition, which is being run by radio station Rock FM.

Greg had whisked his girlfriend away to Amsterdam for Valentine’s weekend, where he proposed over a romantic meal after three years together.

He said: “Everyone congratulated us on the engagement and someone told us about the competition so we entered last minute and got through.”

They will host a fund-raising evening at The Savoy Hotel, on North Promenade, from 7pm on March 7, with donations from Love Beauty and Blackpool FC just some of the raffle prizes on offer.

To support Greg and Lindsey, text ‘WARS03’ followed by an amount up to £10 to 70070.
