A sex offender who went on the run just a month after being released from prison may be in Blackpool, police say.
Peter Swan, 49, was convicted of indecent assault on a girl over 16 and false imprisonment back in February 2002.
He was jailed by a judge at Lewes Crown Court and released on license last month.
Police in Lancashire are now hunting for him after he went missing from his address in Blackburn.
Officers are appealing for help to trace him and said he is known to have links to Blackpool.
Swan is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall, of proportionate build, with short grey hair and blue eyes. He speaks with a southern accent.
Det Con Colin Gaskell said: “Swan is in breach of his licence conditions and enquiries are on-going to locate him.
“I would urge him, if he sees this appeal, or anyone who has seen him to contact us as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
