Police are trying to find a registered sex offender who is wanted for recall to prison.

Jake Speakman ,23, left his address and failed to notify police of his whereabouts, which he was required to do. He has therefore breached his licence conditions and is being recalled to prison.

Speakman was originally sentenced to one year and four months imprisonment at Preston Crown Court in April for sexual activity with a girl under 16.

DS Michael Morris from the Dangerous and Sexual Offenders Unit said: “We are actively looking for Speakman and I would urge anyone who sees him or knows of his whereabouts to call us.

“I would also urge Speakman himself, if he sees this appeal, to hand himself in to the police.

“Sex offenders are managed in the community by police and partners, a system which aims to prevent them from committing further offences. If they do not comply with the obligations of their licence or notification requirements, we will take positive action to find them, as we are doing in this case.”

Speakman’s last registered address is in Blackburn and he is known to have links to the Blackpool area. He is described as white, around 5ft 7ins and of medium build.
