Hundreds give their view on council

Fylde Council has been asking residents what they think of the services they pay for and, so far, almost 600 residents have had their say.

A total of 1,583 people gave their views in the 2013 survey, so councillors are keen for more people to take part in this year’s survey so direct comparisons can be made.

Coun Sue Fazackerley, Fylde Council leader, said: “The figures look very good but the response rate is lower than we would like: we can only be sure that the figures accurately reflect the views of our residents if a significant number take part.”

“On the face of it, the results are very similar to last year and the percentages are encouraging.”

So far 94 per cent of people said services were “satisfactory or better” for parks and open spaces, the same as the 2013 result.

Cleanliness of streets was called “satisfactory or better” by 83 per cent of people this time, again the same as in 2013.

Overall, in terms of Fylde as a place to live – 96 per cent are satisfied so far, compared to 97 per cent in 2013.
