The Hoverboards, also known as self-balancing boards or scooters, were among the must-have gifts in the UK last Christmas.

Groundspeeder Mk1 (Landwheel N1+), Groundspeeder Mk2 (Landwheel N2), Groundspeeder Air (Landwheel N3) are all affected by the recall. Anyone who has purchased a hoverboard from Groundspeeder ltd is urged to stop using it immediately, and return it to the firm for a full refund.

A spokesperson for the Chartered Trading Standards Institute said: “As you might be aware, a number of safety concerns have recently been raised concerning hoverboards.

“We have identified that the hoverboards sold by Groundspeeder Ltd may not fully comply with British Standards and may pose safety risks.”

No problems have been reported to Groundspeeder Ltd by customers, but the firm has taken the decision to recall all of the products specified above.

Said a company spokesperson: “We take the quality of products sold by Groundspeeder Ltd very seriously and the safety of customers is our paramount priority.

“We would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused.”
