Hotel to be prosecuted

A leading Fylde coast hotel is being prosecuted by town hall bosses under health and safety regulations.

The cases against the Dalmeny Hotel, South Promenade, St Annes, were adjourned until March 12 at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court following an application by defence lawyer David Walton.

The hotel is alleged to have breached safety laws in January 2012.

The Dalmeny Hotel Ltd faces six charges.

It is alleged the company failed to ensure the safety of an employee beautician Julia McKeown.

It is also alleged the hotel failed to make a proper risk

assessment, failed to provide staff with proper information and failed to assess the risk of hazardous substances.

The other charges concern the control of hazardous substances and the alleged failure to provide instruction and training.

The company is being prosecuted before the court by Fylde Council.
