Blackpool’s hospital trust has been recognised in the national Patient Safety Awards for 2015.
The Patient Safety Awards aim to champion patient safety throughout the healthcare system.
And Blackpool Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust had been nominated for the End of Life Care Award – which aims to reward best practice in end of life care – at this year’s awards.
It joins two other Lancashire trusts – in the east of the county and at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust – in being nominated for awards.
Gill Brown, chief executive of Healthwatch Lancashire, the body which represents the views of patients, said: “It is great to see three of Lancashire’s hospital trusts being recognised in these awards, and I wish them success in winning their respective awards.
“It is important that we take the time to recognise where care has been of a high standard within Lancashire and to share best practice to ensure that all people in Lancashire are able to access the care that they want and deserve.”
This year Health Service Journal and Nursing Times has taken over the event.
The winners of the 2015 Patient Safety Awards will be announced in a special ceremony on July 6 and 7 in Birmingham.
