Staff at Trinity Hospice and Brian House in Bispham held a special evening of remembrance to show their respect for terminally ill residents who have died within the past four months.

Bereaved families were invited to the quiet night-time event, which took place on Thursday, to share their memories of their loved ones.

They shared poetry readings and prayers in the hospice alongside members of staff who had helped care for their relatives during their final days.

Trinity Hospice spokeswoman Shirley Morgan said: “It was a very quiet event by invitation only, so we only had around 50 or 60 people there.

“It’s a chance for people to think about the family they have lost and share their experiences.

“It’s really important to us at the hospice that our links with families affected by terminal illness don’t end as soon as someone dies.

“It’s important that the people left behind get the support they need so that they can cope with the death of a loved one.”
