Hospice boosted by Blackpool hi-tech building firm's 20th year

Building services engineering company, Ameon, which has its headquarters in Blackpool, celebrate its 20 years in business with a seaside themed charity ball at the resort’s Imperial Hotel and has nominated Brian House, also celebrating its 20th year, to be the recipient of all funds raised from the event, in keeping with the company’s strategic investment in the local economy since its formation in 1996.

The company, which now employs around 200 people at three offices in the North West and construction sites across the UK, has grown significantly in recent years, including performing against market trends in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis.

Now engaged in a significant number of high-profile contracts on prestigious developments throughout the country, Ameon has grown turnover to £37m, increasing the size of its Blackpool headquarters by 50 per cent and opening offices in Manchester and Liverpool in the past seven years alone. The new presence in Manchester and Liverpool reflects the company’s growing portfolio of projects in both cities, particularly Manchester, where Ameon is currently engaged in a number multi-million pound contracts in the commercial and residential property sectors.

Ameon managing director, Robin Lawson is proud of his company’s transformation from local business to national player but is keen to acknowledge the roots of the business, hence the choice of Blackpool’s iconic Brian House Hospice as its nominated charity.

He said: “As a company known for its investment locally in terms of job creation and training we’re delighted to be able to continue the theme by playing our part in the fund-raising efforts of an organisation that such is an inspiration to others.

“Brian House plays such an important role in the provision of palliative care for children on the Fylde Coast; therefore it was the natural choice for the focus of fund-raising at our event.
