The funeral of a Fleetwood teenager who died after being struck by a car will take place on Friday, November 22.

Sarah Duggan, 16, suffered fatal head injuries in the impact when crossing a road near her home last week.

She died on Saturday.

The Blackpool and The Fylde College student suffered a bleed on the brain and had a valve fitted to try to reduce the pressure building.

But, despite medics’ best efforts Sarah died at Royal Preston Hospital with her devoted mother Julie by her side.

Sarah was crossing Fleetwood Road with three friends towards the shops on The Crescent at Broadwater when she was hit by the car on November 4.

Police say the incident is thought to have been a “tragic accident”.

A white horse drawn cortege will leave Sarah’s home in Brook Street at noon for a church service at St. Paul’s Church in Darbishire Road at 12.30pm.

Internment at Fleetwood Cemetery will follow at 2pm.
