Homes plan at eyesore site
The former Fylde Council site, on St David’s Road North, St Annes, will be transformed into a range of properties and made available for rent.
New Fylde Housing will build a mix of two, three and four bedroom family homes, as well as one and two bedroom flats and two bedroom bungalows on the brownfield site.

David Croft, a director of Croft Goode Architects, said: “There is high demand in St Annes for affordable homes, and this scheme brings a variety of accommodation to satisfy local housing need.
“The site has been in a state of disrepair now for a number of years, and this regeneration will benefit the whole community as it removes what was fast becoming a real eyesore.”
Coun Howard Henshaw, ward councillor for St Leonards at Fylde Council, has welcomed the plans, but wants developers to make further improvements to an area which he says has been a cause for concern.

He said: “I’ve been pushing for this for many years.
“It will see the end of the trouble and that has been around there and all the residents will be overjoyed because it hasn’t been very pleasant for those overlooking the site.
“I’ve been invited into their homes to see it and it was just a rubbish dump. It wasn’t very pleasant this development will tidy it all up.”
Tammy Bradley, operation director for New Fylde Housing, said: “We are committed to providing high quality affordable housing and we are extremely pleased to be providing this much needed housing in St Annes.
“The provision of high quality accommodation that meet the needs of the local community is key.”
