SUPERHEROES and cartoon characters braved the rain to raise money for a headstone for a tragic cot death victim.

Hundreds turned out in fancy dress to walk from Gynn Square to the Pleasure Beach on Saturday, in memory of Callum Johnston and in aid of Brian House Children’s Hospice.

Some of the money will also go towards paying for a headstone for the youngster.

Callum’s father Mark Hargan was among the walkers.

He and Callum’s mum, 18-year-old Leah Johnson, of Princess Court, Blackpool, had their world torn apart after she found Callum’s body when she went to wake him three months ago.

Another event will take place on August 9, a fund-raising karaoke competition at Nellie Deans, Blackpool.

Walkers were given bottles of water on their way along the Promenade and spirits remained high.
