People can join Wyre Council’s ranger team and identify as many different species of birds, bugs, plants and beasties as possible.

As with any scientific expedition, everything found will be documented and passed on to local and national wildlife databases.

The event will be officially opened at noon on Friday by folk singer and comedian Mike Harding, with school activities afterwards.

Friday’s activities include a salt marsh survey, an evening bird walk, and a bat walk, while there will also be a marquee up on Saturday and many other events.
