Love Lytham hopes to promote art and culture in the town as a way to attract more visitors from further afield to visit.

And it is now hoping to get more members in order to build a calender of cultural event in the town for the coming year and beyond.

The group wants to hear from visual artists, story tellers, a dance companies music group, theatre groups or individuals who have ideas of how to help promote the town’s artistic heritage to potential visitors.

Coun Tim Ashton, who represents the town on Lancashire County Council and is also part of the group, said: “With the success of Lytham Proms, the 1940s festival and the theatre events at Lytham Hall and Lowther Pavilion, we have a real opportunity to develop a cultural identity for the town.

“This coming year promises to be particularly exciting, with lots of new, inspiring arts events planned.

“We hope that many of them become part of the fabric of Lytham’s cultural offering and the Love Lytham group has been created to support and encourage this type of artistic legacy.”
