Volunteers were asked to attend a meeting to discuss maintenance and management/regeneration and environment yesterday.

Retail and business/events and activities will then be covered on Wednesday, November 25 between 3.30pm and 7.30pm.

Darrel Treece-Birch, who facilitates the Partnership on behalf of St Annes Town Council, said: “We want to put together an action plan which, if successful, could ultimately be worth far more than £50,000 for the town.

“There must be hundreds, if not more, citizens who have expertise in marketing and developing an area like St Annes.

“We would encourage them to attend any workshop that is applicable to them and then, hopefully, to join one of those theme groups either regularly or when they can.

“These project groups will be an ongoing commitment, so we would like dedicated and knowledgeable people who are willing to work for the town’s future.”

Paul Drinnan, regeneration manager for Fylde Council which is also involved in the Partnership, said: “We have a very educated and business-wise population in the area and their input will be extremely valuable.

“This is a real opportunity for people to make a lasting contribution to their town, a contribution that will benefit generations in the decades to come.”
