A new service to encourage people to lose weight and live a more active and healthy lifestyle is being launched in Lancashire.
The Active Lives and Healthy Weight service, which began operating in June, has been commissioned by Lancashire County Council. This service will focus on tackling obesity and encouraging people to manage weight. Dr Sakthi Karunanithi, Lancashire County Council’s director of public health, said: “Obesity is one of the biggest preventable causes of early death alongside smoking.”
