Military veterans plagued by mental illness are being urged to seek help.

The Military Veterans’ Service, run by Lancashire Care, can offer support to ex-services personnel – and issued a rallying call as part of the national Stress Awareness Month.

Manager Joe Crocock said: “We recognise that adjusting to the change in lifestyle when leaving the armed forces can be extremely difficult.

“We want to encourage veterans’ across the county who are experiencing mental health problems such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety or those dealing with substance misuse to get in touch with the service for support.”
