Nominate your health hero for a top award.
We are asking you, our readers, to nominate the person from the health sector you feel has made an outstanding contribution, has gone the extra mile, or done something above and beyond the call of duty.
We are looking for those who are the best in their field, whether they be well-known and high- profile workers, or the unsung heroes who work tirelessly behind the scenes.
Perhaps you have a family member who devotes their time to caring for a loved one, or you know someone in your community who looks after the health and welfare of others.
The awards aim to recognise excellence and innovation in health professions but also to honour those who care in the voluntary sector.
Gazette deputy editor Alison Bott said: “We are looking for those who genuinely represent the best in health – whether from the voluntary or paid-for sector .
“These awards will serve to act as recognition, and as a reward for those who go the extra mile to look after the health of others.”
There are seven categories for you to nominate your health heroes, and the winners will be presented with a trophy and certificate at a prestigious awards luncheon in March.
A special award will be reserved for the individual – a winner of one of the other seven categories – the judging panel feels has made the most outstanding contribution to the health of others.
Categories available: GP/Consultant of the Year, Nurse of the year, Dentist of the year, Midwife of the year, Carer of the year, Unsung hero award, Optician of the year.
