Nominations are open for The Gazette’s Patients’ Award, one of the categories in Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s annual Celebrating Success Awards scheme.
Patients, carers, and members of the public are being urged to nominate health workers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to care for patients and their families.
Interim chief executive at the trust, Wendy Swift, said: ““This is the 10th anniversary of Celebrating Success and each year we have been overwhelmed by the quality and quantity of applications received.
“It is humbling to read reports of the care and expertise our staff give to the patients both in the acute hospital and in the community.
“I have seen so much great work and talent across the trust. It is important that we commend all staff for their hard work and excellent care, and recognise those who really stand out to our patients.
“Last year, we saw record entries which goes to show how much our staff are appreciated by our patients and their families.”
More than 100 nominations were made last year, with Ward 15B at Blackpool Victoria Hospital crowned winners.
They were nominated over 20 times by patients, who described staff as ‘kind, caring, and compassionate.’
