A new shop at Blackpool Victoria Hospital has been branded ‘a hit with patients, staff, and the public’.
Although the volunteer-run shop, based in the new outpatients department, has been open for less than three weeks, it is already proving to be a roaring success, bosses said.
Manager Paul Davies said: “The shop sells everything from newspapers to sandwiches and drinks, and has been extremely popular, especially the healthy options we stock.
“It is being really well used by visitors and staff and all the profit raised helps the trust’s fundraising efforts.”
The shop raises cash for the Blue Skies Hospitals Fund, the hospital trust’s in-house charity, and is open from 8.45am to 4.45pm from Monday to Friday, and from 9am until noon on Saturdays and Sundays.
