Members of the public are being urged to come and have their say about the area’s hospitals, as part of the Keogh review.

The review, led by medical director of NHS England Bruce Keogh, is looking into high mortality rates at 14 hospitals across the UK.

A rapid response team will be visiting Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust on June 17.

The team will work with trusts to identify where any additional actions, over and above those already been taken locally, could improve quality and safety of care.

There will be a ‘listening’ event that night, 6pm until 8pm, at De Vere Hotel, Heron’s Reach, Blackpool, where the public can find out more about the review and give their views.

To attend, call (01253) 306941, 306875 or 303059 or email:

Those unable to attend can email views to or call 03000 61 61 61, option 2.

Gary Doherty, chief executive of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, said: “We very much welcome the review and look forward to working closely with the team.”
