The event took place at the Village Hotel, in Blackpool, in aid of several good causes – Fleetwood Food Bank, the Mustard Seed, Cleveleys Store House, Lourdes and the Amazing Grace charity. The night, which included entertainment – a singer, magician, DJ and dancers, three-course meal, raffle, and live music – raised £1,365, to be split evenly between the charities.

Jessica, of Fleetwood, said: “This won’t be the final sum, as I am going to put in my efforts to try and boost this number, it is so amazing people’s generosity has managed to raise this much money and I am beyond grateful. I organised this ball because I believe so passionately we should be charitable and help others, I have done many other fundraising events, but none as big as this.

“I want to say a big thank you to all who attended, but also those who provided entertainment or services. Everything about the night went better than I could ever have hoped and I feel so privileged to have received the support I did. The Mayor of Wyre, Terry Lees, is an amazing man and helped me so much.”
