Have your say on dementia services on Fylde coast

The NHS Fylde and Wyre Clinical Commissioning Group is holding a special dementia ‘listening café’ at Blackpool Victoria Hospital tomorrow at 10.30 – 11.30am.

People with dementia, or those who care for someone who is, are invited to attend and share their experiences, good or bad, with a member of Fylde and Wyre CCG’s patient engagement team.

It’s part of a wider ‘conversation’ about dementia which is taking place across the whole of Lancashire in a bid to assess people’s priorities and what changes to services may be needed.

Lesley Tiffen, commissioning manager, said: “If you’re living with dementia, or care for someone who is, please come along to this special listening café at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

“We want to know which services are working well for you and hear your thoughts and views on the local support services available to you in Fylde and Wyre.

“This will then be fed back to the strategic clinical network which will assess all of the feedback and look to make changes and improvements to services to give people living with dementia, and their carers, a better quality of life.”

Two more dementia specific listening cafes are being held over the next few weeks.

The first is at Thornton library on Tuesday, November 3, from 11am-12pm.

The second is at Freckleton library on Tuesday, November 17, from 2-3pm.
