Has your GP surgery won a bouquet or a brickbat?

Here is the list of the best and worst surgeries in Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre, based on the percentage of people who said they would recommend their GP surgery to others.

Some surgeries are missing as they did not yet have a rating.

The best in Blackpool was the Arnold Medical Centre on St Annes Road.

Meriel Carrdus, practice manager said the staff were pleased with the score.

She said: “I don’t think we do anything much different to all the other surgeries in Blackpool, we have a telephone triage service to help patients and we also have regular patients’ group meetings.

“We hold three a year, or more if there are any issues they want to discuss and we take not of the feedback.

“We are just very pleased to have a good score.”

Leaders say positive results lift morale in surgeries, but union bosses say the  survey fails to give the full picture of how the practices are performing.

Neil Greaves, of Healthwatch Lancashire, said: “Neil Greaves, Communications Manager at Healthwatch Lancashire, said: “Giving people in Lancashire the opportunity to have their say and shape how health and social service are delivered is essential.

“Healthwatch Lancashire undertakes an extensive amount of engagement work to ensure that the views of people in Lancashire are not only listened to but acted upon by those who run, plan and regulate health and social care services.

“Healthwatch Lancashire encourages people to share their experiences of using GP practices as their voice counts.”

A spokesman for the British Medical Association said the percentage need to be taken with a pinch of salt.

He said: “GP practices are rightly inspected and scrutinised independently to ensure they deliver effective care to their patients, which the vast majority do.

“Arbitrary online polls often don’t give a full picture of how a practice is performing or show the enormous pressures they are operating  under, especially as many are struggling to cope with soaring patient demand, falling resources and staff shortages.”

The survey is sent out twice a year, to about 1.36 million adults who are registered with a GP in England.

These figures are correct as at March 17 2016, and the surveys on each surgery received different numbers of responses.

Over Wyre medical centre are the best. Never 1 problem with them and always been there for me
