MEET Hamish – a domestic short hair ginger and white tom who is desperate for a new home.

Hamish, who is believed to be between three and six-years-old, is a very timid cat, which has been at the RSCPA’s Marton Longview Animal Home since August.

An RSPCA spokeswoman said: “Hamish came in on August 9, and is one of our long stayers.

“He is a little bit scared of people and doesn’t like to be touched initially. He needs a lot of patience by an owner, and will need time to get used to them.”

Hamish was brought in by RSPCA inspectors.

He can be adopted for a £60 donation to the RSPCA centre but shouldn’t be homed with other pets or small children.

Rupert and Cedric, the six-month-old guinea pig brothers featured in last week’s Gazette are due to be taken to their new home today.
