A pub near the Prom has had a good sprucing up ready for the summer season.
The Gynn has undergone the huge revamp thanks to the new landlords, husband and wife team Christine and Barry Stokes and Thwaites Brewery.
As the recession bites it’s not often we hear of investment in local business but Christine and Barry have decided to take the plunge and transform the iconic building into a new family carvery and pub.
The couple have over 30 years experience in the pub and hotel industry and previously managed a successful pub and restaurant, The Angel, in Gloucestershire. Christine and Barry, who started their business venture earlier this year, now hope families and tourists will flock to their new venue.
Christine said: “We have always had a soft spot for The Gynn and felt that with a little TLC we could really bring it back to life.
“It’s been fantastic taking it over, the locals are lovely and we’re now gearing up towards the summer season.”
When asked about the new carvery Barry said: “We’re passionate about good food – which is why all our roast potatoes and vegetables are homemade and freshly prepared.
“We hope to become a good family pub and carvery for the local community as well as tourists during the summer season.”
