The grassroots funding will be used to provide a new central pedestrian refuge on Devonshire Road in Blackpool, outside Ingthorpe Park.

The bulk of the funding, £20,000, is coming from the ward budget of Warbreck councillors Danny and Michele Scott.

Another £5,000 is being provided through the ward budget of councillors Chris Ryan and Christine Wright (left) who represent Greenlands ward.

The money will be forwarded to the council’s highways and traffic management services for the work to be carried out.

Each ward receives a budget of £15,000 a year for community projects.
