Three fire engines and crews were called to put out a fire in long grass off Silsden Close in Grange Park this afternoon.

The firefighters, from Blackpool and Bispham stations, used a hosereel jet, a hydrant-supplied jet, and handheld beaters to put out the flames, a spokesman said.

Nobody was hurt in the blaze, which started at around 1.20pm. The cause is under investigation.
