Glittering ball nets more than £15,000 for those who care

Around 400 guests attended the Carers Trust Fylde Coast's charity ball.

The glittering fundraising event took place at Village Urban Resort, Heron’s Reach, Blackpool.

It was compered by Radio Wave’s Ged Mills and guest speaker was Prof Saul Becker, president of Carers Trust Fylde Coast and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Birmingham University.

The ball was attended by civic leaders, MP Paul Maynard, statutory, voluntary and private sector funders, supporters, businesses, staff, volunteers, trustees and carers.

The vent raised £15,010 for the charity’s Three In Five campaign, to Build A Better Life for Blackpool’s carers, by opening a new carers’ centre on Newton Drive.

A former NHS children’s development centre, bought for the charity by Beaverbrooks charitable trust, needs a £2m makeover to become fit for purpose since metal thieves trashed the property.
