Get involved in resort whale watch

Local organisers from the Sea Foundation’s National Whale and Dolphin Watch are inviting residents to get involved with the event.

Dave McGrath will be holding watches at Mirror Ball, South Promenade, Gynn Square opposite Cliffs Hotel, in Blackpool and at Princes Promenade, Little Bispham from July 27 to August 3.

And Stacey McCarthy will be holding watches at Norbreck Castle, Queens Promenade, on August 3.

The watches are free to anyone to attend. The pair will be explaining to all who come along how to tell a dolphin from a porpoise and how to collect watch data.

The results the watches will be collated with other watch data from around the country by Sea Watch to create a picture of the dolphin and whale species in the sea.
