We are delighted to announce that this year’s event will be sponsored once again by Blackpool and The Fylde College, who will also be housing the exhibition for the first time.

The prestigious annual event is open to primary, secondary and special needs schools throughout Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde. Each school is asked to submit artwork pieces by individual pupils and every participant will be rewarded with a commended certificate.

Additionally, there is an optional group section where larger artwork pieces may be submitted based on the theme ‘My Fylde.’ The winning school in this section will receive the prestigious Young Seasiders Trophy.

Blackpool and The Fylde College will also be awarding a trophy to a Secondary School pupil.

All winners from the Young Seasiders Exhibition will be invited along to a glittering awards ceremony in March where they will be presented with a commemorative medal and prize.

Blackpool and The Fylde College is proud of its relationship with local schools and works closely with school staff to ensure young people have the knowledge and opportunities to follow their chosen career path.

Hosting the Young Seasiders Schools Arts and Craft Exhibition is a way in which B&FC can help to inspire students and recognise the creative talent and artistic flair evident across the Fylde Coast.

The School of Creative Arts offers renowned courses across the creative industries including fashion, photography, graphic design, performing arts, music, media and fine art and its students consistently receive national acclaim.

Head of School Nigel Brown says: “For the first time this year, pupils will see their work professionally hung in our Gallery, which has also seen work from Tracy Emin and Damien Hirst exhibited as well as our degree level art from our own students. It’s an exciting opportunity for young people to feature in an exhibition and we hope bringing their friends and family to the Gallery will inspire them to continue exploring their passion for the Creative Arts.”

If your school has not already registered to participate in the exhibition, please contact The Gazette Promotions Department on 01253 361893.
