The event, entitled the Fallacies of the Fracking Frenzy, will take place on Thursday from 7pm at the Aztec Venue, Pleasure Island, St Annes, and will feature main speaker Dr Stephen Garsed.

The party voted at its Regional Conference this month to support the National Labour Party’s plans to ban fracking and to pass a motion made by the Fylde party to call for a reinstatement of a UK moratorium on all planning and other decisions related to fracking.

Dr Garsed, who formerly worked for the Health and Safety Executive, will give his views on hydraulic fracturing for shale gas.

The event will feature other speakers and refreshments will be offered.
