In the past five years, the company, a division of the Tangerine Group, has invested more than £5m towards new equipment and has recently purchased a second building next door to its existing head office, in order to expand its research and development facilities even further.

David Haythornthwaite, founder and current managing director of VetPlus, said: “Having the ability to manufacture our products in house has allowed us to stay ahead of the sector with new, innovative products and as such is a vital element of the business.”

He said VetPlus had developed a range of industry-leading products which help manage numerous animal health issues, such as cognitive dysfunction, stress, anxiety and problematic joint function.

David added: “Achieving this record profit in line with our anniversary is a fantastic way to highlight the success of the past 20 years.
