The plan, which will guide development throughout the borough through to 2032, includes land allocations for new homes along with employment and development management policies which will inform decisions on planning applications.

Coun Trevor Fiddler, chairman of the council’s development management committee, said: “The Council has reached the stage where it is able to publish the Local Plan, this is the final stage of what has been a long exercise with four opportunities for people to comment.

“The content of the plan now reflects the results of previous consultations.

“The planning system is plan led and it is vital that the Council has an up to date plan in place.”

The consultation period before the publication of the Local Plan to 2032 runs until 5pm on September 22 and it is available to view oneline at www.fylde.gov.uk/localplan and in person at all Fylde libraries as well as the council’s Fylde Direct premises at Clifton Drive North, St Annes

Following the publication consultation, the document will be submitted together with the comments made to the Secretary of State for examination in public.
